God is present and moving in Sublette, Kansas

7/19/2014

Our family arrived in Sublette, Kansas nearly one month ago.  Time really does go quickly.  It is very difficult to ask your family to move to a new place and leave everything they have come to know as comfortable.  Even more still to open yourself to the idea that God will always be present and provide all you will need when you place your entire trust and faith in God. For the past few years, it seems we are doing this more and more often, running to the proverbial cliff and jumping off with both feet and without hesitation.  The more we trust we will land in the arms of a loving and providing God, the more we get to experience all God has for us.  God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

The one thing that has made this journey easier is the fact we are able to see how God is present in all of it even before we arrived in Sublette, Kansas.  In the weeks prior to moving, many gracious people reached out to us with offers of assistance to make the transition smooth.  People we have never met or talked with before.  You were opening your homes, arms, and hearts to complete strangers.  The only thing you, and we, had was hope, faith, and trust God would make all things right if we just surrender to God's will.

The community of Sublette, Kansas and people of Sublette United Methodist Church, with God's help, reached out and have provided many things we had not even thought.  Our home had been handled with a great deal of loving hands, we were able to stay with a great couple our first night, people were going out of their way to introduce them self, and food was provided for nearly two weeks.  I arrived to a church full of people, filled with Spirit, and open to move ahead as God leads without being hung up by past challenges.  That is God's presence at work in our life and community.

With heartfelt gratitude, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for stepping out in faith when you did not have to this for us.  I know moving forward, walking in this world as Jesus did, together we will further build God's Kingdom by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

May God's peace be with all of you,

Pastor Eddie
